XiaoZhou Village(3) The Taoist Temple Blesses The Village

There are two Taoist Temples in Xiaozhou Village(小洲村). One named TianHou Temple(天后宫) and the other named YuXu temple(玉虚宫). Since Tanka people(蜑家) depended on the fishery, The Northern Emperor and the Queen of Heaven which regard as the Protectors of Seafarers, are worshipped reverently. Joss sticks and candles are burning all the time. Let’s visit YuXu temple first.

XiaoZhou Village has been regarded as an ideal place for reclusion. Many artists came here and stayed behind. But today, It’s a famous artist village now. More and more young people come here looking for their future.

Xiaozhou Village(1)The Last Water Village Of Guangzhou

Last weekend, I went to XiaoZhou Village(小洲村), The last water village of Guangzhou. It’s the second time I visited there. Last time was 8 years ago. XiaoZhou Village changed a lot these years. The former national ecological village is disappearing!

Xiaozhou Village lies in Yingzhou Ecological Park(瀛洲生态园), Haizhu District of Guangzhou. It’s named as the most beautiful village in Guangzhou because it’s special water village environment and unsophisticated folkway.

XiaoZhou Village has more than 600 years history. Villagers there are the offspring of Tanka people(蜑家). Tanka people also called “the Boat people”, It’s a special group of people that has traditionally lived on boats in coastal parts of south china. They mostly worked as fishermen, But some built markets or villages on the shore and started new life on shore.

The net of Rivulets and stone bridges make the village so different compares to other villages in Guangdong, remind you the water towns of Southern Yangtze River. Those stone bridges were made in different dynasties, Every bridge has it’s own story.

But since the government decided to change this quiet village into a highlight of travel sites, Xiaozhou changed a lot. More and more people visit there, more and more traditional old houses are disappearing, some stupid look new houses are taking their place.

The water is dry and the boats are beat-up this winter afternoon. Only the bluestone road remind me the old XiaoZhou.

Cloudy Days At Emerald Bay

Emerald Bay locates at the west-north of Pangkor Laut Resort, Malaysia. As we know, Pangkor Laut Resort is one of the Best Beach Resorts on this world, Emerald Bay is also named as one of Top Ten Best white sandy Bays. Unfortunately, It’s cloudy when I visited Emerald Bay, I can’t catch beautiful photos as it should be. But I must say it’s so great to have such a place to relax.

Yeah, you can wash your feet at the bus stop. Did you ever visit a bus stop as lovely as this one?

Saizeriya, An Example Of “World Is Flat”

I had the dinner at Saizeriya(萨莉亚) last weekend. It’s a restaurant which offers delicious Italian food with cheap price. I was satisfied with the Pizza and Chicken Piccata, And I found something interesting too.

A 9″ pizza only cost 20 RMB （about 3.3 USD)

It’s cheap but tastes good.

This Chicken Piccata only cost 12 RMB (about 1.8 USD）

It’s such a small world! I met quite some acquaintances at Saizeriya accidentally, they went there from different corners of Beijing.

Then I found this restaurant didn’t run by Itlian, It’s a Japanese chain of Italian family-style restaurants. A Japanese named Yasuhiko Shōgaki begain his Saizeriya career in 1968. It already has more than 1000 stores in 2006.

When I showed my pizza photos to my friends, They told me Saizeriya is already very popular in Shanghai, It will open 200 stores in following years.

When I told iWalk about Saizeriya, She told me there were already 6 Saizeriya restaurants in Guangzhou.

So, Saizeriya, a Japanese chain of Italian family-style restaurants, are growing rapidly. Yeah, as an example of “World Is Flat”.

Swimming pool just beside the sreet, It’s very crowded in summer days.

Enjoy the Beer garden under the sunshine of Cote d’Azur.

You can see dog’s bar here and there on the street, I think Monaco is the heaven of doggies too.

The winter comes so quickly! When I got up yesterday morning, I saw a white world!
The snowing lasted the whole forenoon, together with strong breeze. My photos showed how the things changed outside my window. You could also see the snow track changed with the direction of wind.

I Only Cost 15€ In Monte Carlo

Monte Carlo is certainly a typical place of rich and famous. But as a person don’t like gambling, F1 or those luxury brands, Monte Carlo is just a travel destination with something interesting to see.

Hôtel de Paris, One of the most luxurious hotel in this world. It was established in 1864 by Charles III, the Prince of Monaco.

You can meet many famous people here, From Queen Victoria to many movie stars. From this car plate number, you can know that’s not belong to normal person.

The avenue of luxury brands.

The Monte Carlo Casino is one of the most notable tourist attractions of Monaco.

I love this angle.

It would cost $5,000 per night to park a yacht at Monaco bay, But there are still so many luxurious yachts from all over the world.

Oh, These are my favorite.

Yeah, I only cost 15€ in Monte Carlo.

The ticket of the Monte Carlo Casino cost me 10€. Though I don’t like gambling but I think it worth becuase it’s one of the most beautiful casino in the world. Compare to the casino I have visited in Las vegas, The Monte Carlo Casino looks so gentlemanly and aristocratic. I think I should dress more formal to visit there.

I cost the other 5€ for a big bowl of Haagen-Dazs icecream. I was amazed when I found the price of Haagen-Dazs there is much cheaper, compared to the price in our local supermarket.

I didn’t buy some stamps of Monaco there, Because I already have some. If you visit Monte Carlo, If you want buy some souvenirs, the famous stamps of Monaco are good choice. After all, Manaco is the kingdom of stamp!
